Fishing
Report 8-6-05
It
was my privilege to take my web guy Mark out for some brown
trout fishing at East Lake this past week. He was on vacation
here in Oregon and we decided to get together for an outing.
If you have been following my reports for the past month,
you know that East Lake has been red hot for browns so far
this summer. We have been able to get into numbers and quality
on every trip so far. This trip was no exception.
We
hit the area of the lake that has been so good to me this
summer. We started out slowly but the bite took off around
8:00 a.m. Mark got his second best brown ever and the 7.25
LB. hookjaw was as pretty as they come. We were able to
release him after some photos and I hope to see him again
when he is over 10 LB! I believe that we landed 14 browns
and were off the water by noon. There were several browns
around 3 LB. that attest to the quality of fish we are seeing
at East this year. We are still working the thermocline
as the fish are in the summer pattern of holding in 30-50
feet of water.
My Walker Downriggers have been working wonderfully and
their new weight retrieval system puts their product in
another league, I believe. They also have the best underwater
camera system available. I will be working the show circuit
in the Northwest this coming winter, so stop by to see me
at the Walker booth.
Tight Lines, Rick
