Fishing
Report 7-23-05
Having back to back trips
persuaded me to spend the night up at Paulina Lake. Mark
Gardner from the valley and a couple of his friends joined
me for half a day. It was pretty windy at the onset.....maybe
10 to 15 m.p.h. at 5:30 a.m. They were dressed in summer
gear: shorts and T-shirts. I think they were wishing they
had something more substantial. By mid morning the wind
had laid down and their wardrobe was adequate.
The pattern was very similar to the day before except we
didn't get any browns over 3 lb. The overall fish count
was 12 browns by 10:30 a.m. Still a great showing in only
a few hours. Because the fish are in the thermocline we
were working them with leadcore and downriggers and using
Tui Chub pattern stickbaits. The next trip is coming up
this next Tues.
Tight lines, Rick
