I had one of my more interesting clients out this past week. Lynn Bridger is a hunting guide and outfitter from Idaho that also contracts with IDFG to shoot coyotes from the air. He had also shot one of the biggest typical mule deer of all time. I hope to have a photo of it to post on the site, when he gets home.
Lynn contacted me after seeing the episode of American Outdoorsman. He and his wife Kay drove over from Pocatello, Id. for a day on LBC.
We had improving weather with only moderate winds. Lucky for us, Lynn got into a nice bull (7.5 LB) right away. His fish hit a Lyman in tight working a shoreline area I like. We managed 5 bulls total for the day with most of the fish dinks.
The next day, I had Mike Comeaux and his wife. We had a cold front coming in and you could feel the temps drop during the day. I am not sure if it was a factor, but we struggled with only one small bull for the day. Things were definitely tightening up on the catching. Like the guy said, it is still just fishing! These are the days that humble a guide.
Tight Lines, Rick
