Fishing
Report 3-24-06
Steve
Kelly and I made it up to LBC to try out the Walker Strikevision
camera unit and see if we could get a little underwater
footage. Unfortunately, the unit was a display model that
we had used at the outdoor shows this winter and had some
problems. Needless to say, we didn't get any footage at
all. To make matters worse, my remote steering finally blow
the cable and we had to make an on the water repair and
it is difficult at best. They are fairly simple if you are
in the parking lot behind the boat but laying on a dock
and hanging over the water, is not my first choice.
When we finally got back out on the lake to fish it was
2:30 in the afternoon and we didn't get out all that early
in the morning, so it was a shorter day than we expected.
Luckily we made up for it with some quality bulls that afternoon.
I use "we" loosely, as Kelly stuck all 3 bulls
including a 5.5 Lb. hen and a male and female that both
weighed right under 10 Lb. I had one good strike and settled
for "net boy" for Steve.
The bulls had migrated some from where they had been for
the last two weeks but were in the same general area. This
has been an unusual year with the fish not responding that
well to plugs for us and also coming from the 50-70 foot
range instead of the usual "island shoreline drill"
that everybody and his brother is used too. That may come
into plat later. We are just glad to be able to locate them
for now.
