After my report to the "Dinkmeister" the week earlier, John decided to make a trip up for some of the Wickuip brown action before the fall season ended and while you could still get a boat in. I was busy when he got up here but was able to join him for one day before I got the call that my wife's Mom had died. We knew it was coming but not as soon as it happened. Anyway, I had to get off the morning of the second day to get ready to travel back to the mid-west. The first day was fantastic and that was really enough for me.
Killer 6.5 LB. brown for the Dinkmeister.

We picked up some smaller browns early and finally got into some bigger browns a little after the sun got up a little. Right now, the browns are pre-staging and putting on weight before the fall spawn starts. They are getting into their beautiful fall spawning colors as you can see from the photos. This is the time of year that they really shine!
We ended up with a count of 17 browns total the first day and 4 the next morning. We accounted for (6) browns of over 5 LB. including a male near 7 Lb. and my best of the day hookjaw real close to 9 Lb.!
Look for more reports when I return. I plan on fishing East and Paulina this fall right through Oct.
