Mike "The puffer" Bianchi tied his PB brown with this short but fat 9 LB. hookjaw brown. Congrats my man!

We were hoping that our grandson's would be able to meet this year and do a little fishing together. It wasn't meant to be! Colin started school on 8/10 and flew out a few days before that and John couldn't get Mikey up until after football camp. Anyway, I decided to meet up with the Dinkmeister and Mikey at Crescent for a couple of days. Colin and I had some decent luck on a couple of nice browns and a large laker the week before.
It was a good outing for those two on Tues. morning when Mikey got into a sweet 9 LB. brown that ties his PB for the species. I was actually there when he got his first 9 a couple of years back. I kept getting calls all that morning as I prepared to head up about how it was going. They did stick some nice trout including an 11 Lb. laker and several nice browns in the 4-6 Lb. class.
It definitely slowed when I got up there......how lucky can I get! I did scratch up this nice 5 LB.+ hookjaw and another dink while John and Mike slowed down as well. In fact, we decided to head home a day early as the bite was really slowing up.
I should have some reports from Wickiup as I entertain "Fast Eddie" Stanley and a friend from Idaho. Look for those by the end of the week.
Tight lines,
Rick
