Fishing has been nothing short of sensational for the last two weeks. The ice in our marinas has disappeared and that only means one thing.....big fish. We have now moved into shallow water (8 to 15 feet) to target post spawn fish, and they are biting. We are fishing with crankbaits such as Husky Jerks and Shad Raps. We are long lining from 80 to 120 feet in back of the boat and getting baits away from the boat with in line planer boards. This is a bit different from our typical spread of 6 to 10 lines, we are only fishing with 2. Quarters are very tight and we are fishing with light line 8 to 10 pound test so we have to cut down on our spread in order to keep some order if you know what I mean. Stealth still remains the key component to our success. This hen was taken on Monday the 22nd of March. She weighed out at 15.3 pounds.
