Brandon Lane and I decided to head up to Lake Billy Chinook to fish the Metolius Arm opener and break in my new 18'6 Lund boat. We woke up to 5 inches of fresh powder so I knew the drive was not going to be fun. When we finally arrived, there was not one boat at the parking lot and I just had a feeling we were going to have a great day. It turned out I was right.

Within the first 20 minutes of trolling, we had a double hook up and landed two nice 7 pounders. We both agreed it looks like "today's going to be good!" About a hour later we had another double hook up. This time they were both larger. My fish looked to be about 8-9 lbs. but I was pretty sure that Brandon's fish was over 10 lbs so I grabbed the video camera to film him. My fish ended up getting off probably because I gave it some slack trying to grab the camera. After a couple short runs, we got it in the net! Brandon was stoked! His largest Bull trout ever weighing in at 12 lbs 6 ounces! We took some photos and let her go.

By the end of the day we had caught over 15 fish with five over 7 lbs and four over 8 lbs including Brandon's 12.6. My best one was around 9 lbs. What a day!
